TIMELESS TRENCH COAT

The trusty trench coat, a classic staple for all of our wardrobes. An all-time favourite of mine not only due to its chic design but it is one of the most versatile pieces out there. Perfect for the transitional months - layer over chunky knits or a wear as a lightweight option with a smock dress. I'll just mention, I do have a coat problem.

They started in the menswear world, the military coat originating from as far back as World War 1, however ever since those days, women have been wearing the classic. The style has pretty much the same throughout time, evolving into new shapes and colours for us to choose from.

Here are some pics of me wearing mine! This one is a lightweight, double breasted number I picked up in Primark in September. It was £25 and to be honest, the quality is great. I don't tend to find too much in Primark, but this was a great find. It comes with a belt which I tie at the back and tortoise button detailing.

In the first images, I styled the coat with a casual outfit under, a pair of white joggers from Pretty Little Thing and a simple ribbed turtleneck from M&S. The trench easily smartens the outfit accompanied by my Alexander McQueen trainers and Gucci Marmont bag.

I love pairing the camel colour with neutrals or even just black or white outfits. Here I styled the coat with pair of cream jeans, a racer front vest, Air Force and in the second picture with a black knitted jumper dress during colder times at the end of last year.

I can't wait to style this one with more Spring outfits as soon as possible but in the meantime, while were stuck in the house, I'm going to continue looking for variations of the trench that I can add to my coat collection...

Thanks for reading, I hope everyone is well and staying safe.
