THE DRESSING GOWN CURL HACK

So, a few weeks ago I stumbled across a Tik Tok of a girl curling her hair with the belt from her dressing gown and thought I'd give it a go... My hair is thick and quite long so I half expected it to fail, just wrapping it around the material but... by surprise it actually worked! I regularly use heat on my hair so, to know that I can reduce that now is great.

I will link the tutorial I followed as I think it may be easier than my explanation, but my top tips are – make sure you pull and wrap the hair as tightly as possible around the dressing gown belt, do it with dry hair & leave it in as long as possible (overnight.)
Step 1. Brush through your hair and place the belt over your head so you have one end on each side.
Step 2. Part your hair down the middle and tie a bobble around one side (with that side of the dressing gown included.)
Step 3. Take a small section of hair from the front of your head and wrap it over the belt bringing it back under.
Step 4. Add in another section of hair to the piece you pulled through and keep doing the exact same right to the bottom, when you have no hair left to wrap around.
Step 5. Tie an elastic band/bobble where the hair finishes on the dressing gown belt so that it stays in place (just like how you would finish a plait)
Step 6. Wrap the dressing gown/hair in a space bun away from your face and tie with another bobble.
Step 7. Repeat on the other half of the head & sleep.
Step 8. Untie all of the bobbles and unwrap the hair, shake out and youre good to go!
This is now my go-to lockdown hairstyle by choice and I’m protecting my hair by not using any heat at the same time!
Hope it works for you too! Here’s a few pics showing my curls from the hack!
Hope you’re well,
Han x
